There is a pretty unconventional way to build landing pages – totally different from how like 99% of people do it nowadays.
I'm calling them "essay-driven landing pages".
The Rules
- just words, no animations, no bento grids, no dark mode
- inject personality, founder writes it themselves
- one single button
- instead of just selling a product, sell an observation or a learning
Examples
Here are a few examples of an essay-driven landing pages:

once.com

sfcompute.com

rostra.co

refind.so
Just to be clear, I do like Linear style landing pages, but they can be a bit over the top sometimes.
